Our goal and mission is to make a noticeable difference in the efficiency of the family which will take place by establishing expectations, consistency, and incentives to change behaviors. The final result will be strengthened relations, a more positive climate, better communication, and a more pleasant and enjoyable life experience.

About Us

George Burnetz is the founder and creator of the Behavior Specialists of Houston. He is a certified Special Education Counselor and Special Education teacher in the state of Texas who also works for the Aldine and Spring Independent School District. He obtained his Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and Counseling from Sam Houston State University. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Houston.

The experience which provides the foundation of this service originates from teaching students who have autism, complete with in-home parent training for three different educational entities, as well as counseling experience at alternative campuses in an urban school district dealing with at-risk children of all ages and abilities. The Behavior Specialists team has additional career developmental training and certificates in the TEACCH method (based out of the University of North Carolina), PECS (Picture Exchange Communication Systems), NCI (Non-Crisis Intervention), and urban student behavior training. Our staff pass down our research-based practices into practical techniques for home and other environments. Experience in working with school professionals, parents, specialists, and students have been collectively gathered to be applied for use by families to address a wide variety of concerns. The communication techniques and practices that are utilized come from applying theories of counseling individuals and groups, to working toward the betterment of all those involved with the individual.
